Technician

What is expected of you?

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests
• Welcome and recognise all visitors in accordance with business policies. Anticipate and respond to visitors
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems
• Interact with a variety of people to understand their needs and provide them with information and assistance
• Check the PMS (Property Management System) for new maintenance requests and update remarks once the activity is finished
• Complete and file the maintenance work order form / job card
• Interpretation of readings from metres, gauges, and other measuring instruments
• Prioritize and organize work assignments
• Work under duress and make sound decisions
• Pay close attention to details, speed, and precision
• Safeguard hotel guests' privacy and important hotel information
• Ensure the safety of hotel guests and property
• Read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals
• Perform guest room maintenance tasks such as flushing toilets, unclogging drains, and repairing all forms of hardware, including lamps, air conditioners / HVAC, and AC ducts
• Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing and electrical equipment and cosmetic items
• Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory activities, as well as program televisions
• Perform basic equipment testing, troubleshooting, and repairs
• To clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all the hotel's tools and equipment
• To work as a self-contained mechanic, analysing problems, determining courses of action, and implementing solutions with limited resources and excellent quality
• Be available for any emergencies and act as an engineer to protect guests and associates while also preserving the structure and its systems
• To monitor fire alarm and life safety system systems as needed, to be fully knowledgeable about system operation, and to respond to system-related emergencies
• Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical part breakdowns and understand them
• Follow detailed oral and written directions
• Requisition parts and supplies as needed from the maintenance inventory
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, maintain the security of private information, and safeguard corporate assets
• Ensures that the hotel facility and related equipment are kept in a safe and efficient condition
• Share information and abilities to train and instruct other members of the team
• Performs other duties as assigned by superior

What are you expected to bring?

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Extensive knowledge of technical equipment and machinery such as HVAC, plus electrics, and electronics
• Excellent written and spoken English
