Technical Designer

Do you have extensive experience in development and design of technical projects in a mechanical/industrial setting? A leading Maltese Fire Safety and Security company is looking for a Technical Designer to join their team. If you have the expertise, Ceek would love to hear from you.

What is expected of you?

• Plan all parts of a project from start to finish, including costing and ensuring proper engineering
• Make design modifications and keep track of them. As directed by the superiors, submit progress reports and notes
• Collaborate with project stakeholders on proposal and design issues
• Coordinate all areas of project execution from start to finish, including costing, design, installation, commissioning, and handover
• Respond to client queries and requests as quickly as possible. Follow-up on a regular basis and make a record of your findings
• Plan jobs ahead of time and implement a prioritised work schedule with realistic deadlines
• Provide overall technical, commercial, and operational guidance to project teams, as well as general direction to other support departments
• Develop and maintain relationships with the customer's engineers, consultants, and decision-makers
• Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables for each project phase and functional area in collaboration with project teams
• Keep all data current and maintain technical and non-technical papers
• Clarify purchase order receipts and provide complete handover documents for projects in a timely manner
• Conduct product research and development, as well as develop new project prospects both within (up selling) and outside (cross selling) the contract scope
• Monitor project operations to verify that the proper methodologies are used and that adequate attention is given to satisfy the customer's needs
• Ensure that the company's policies and procedures are followed (ISO, LPCB etc)
• Manage inventory through organising, planning, and coordinating activities
• At all levels of the project, ensure that customer satisfaction and service levels are maintained
• Always communicate with customers in a proactive, dynamic, and successful manner

What are you expected to bring?

• Experienced in development, design, and operational coordination of technical projects, ideally in a mechanical/ industrial setting in Fire and Security industry
• Basic experience using ACad.
• Ideally a tertiary level of education or similar: either a diploma or degree in a related field
• A valid license to drive in Malta.
• A confident leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferably fluent in both in the English and Maltese languages
