Do you have experience in the world of purchasing and enjoy the challenges in importing? If this sounds like you then we are seeking to recruit a Shipping/Purchasing Clerk who has strong organisational skills.
What is expected of you?
• Process and record sales orders, stock control and maintain a good relationship with suppliers • Create reservations of stocks and materials and follow up with the client order • Issue invoices and other related information including credit notes • Review and monitor stock information to ensure that this is accurate and updated at all times • Assist with the performance and process of stock takes • Be responsible for the preparation of purchase orders for suppliers • Assist the customers or shippers with queries • Provide routing information and issue shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time and to their correct location. Be responsible for tracking of goods • Liaise with accounts for the payment of invoices and prepare all the necessary information • Be responsible for ensuring shipping, handling and other related costs are calculated accurately and passed onto customer • Be able to negotiate rates with suppliers such as carriers, warehouse operators and insurance companies and prepare tariffs for customers • Ensure the require profit margins as directed by the company are achieved

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal • Able to present information in a clear and concise manner • Familiar with commercial enterprise and basic accounting • Have good reasoning skills, be able to analyse data and prepare reports • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong negotiations skills and the ability to influence others. • Learn, follow company policies and procedures, and get involve in their improvement
