A prominent client of ours is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant who will be leading an accounting team within the manufacturing industry. The role will involve working closely with the finance team to deliver exceptional results to the business and control all operations in the Finance department. What is expected of you?

  • Forecast short and long-term profit/loss and capital requirements
  • Measure the company’s performance against financial plans
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivables process
  • Manage the payroll process own the general ledger coordinating all processes
  • Prepare cash flows in accordance with the group timetable, understanding variances from the plan and identifying the actions needed
  • Manage cash flow in line with the needs of the business
  • Ensure the intercompany process is managed with invoicing completed accurately and on time in line with group policy
  • Act as the main liaison with local banks
  • Act as a co-pilot for operational managers, preparing the KPI dashboard and analysis for review
  • Prepare labour and material variances; understanding the key drivers and working with the departmental managers to identify and implement improvements
  • Prepare new job costs for approval in line with the site governance process
  • Prepare supporting financial information
  • Undertake cost centre spend reviews with departmental managers and the appropriate people leaders to review headcount needs, labor spend and overhead spending
  • Undertake job close out reviews identifying job specific issues or performance trends for future job costs
  • Manage the inventory process to ensure levels stay within agreed days on hand limits and slow-moving or obsolete inventory is provided for and disposed of appropriately
  • Ensure full participation in the performance development review process

What are you expected to bring?
  • Qualified Accountant (MIA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Manufacturing experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to organize large amounts of information into a coherent and meaningful format while working on multiple prospects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel is a must
  • Commitment to lead a team, coordinating and supervising group work efforts
