Report and Risk - Analyst

What is expected of you?

  • Data collection is high quality and consistent across different domains, including configuration of validation rules, ad-hoc checks, and outreach

  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to obtain an understanding of end-user requirements, translate this into requirements specifications, and assist in user acceptance testing

  • Assist with the design, development and maintenance of analytical tools and processes

  • Delivering and communicating quantitative and statistical analysis through data visualization and reporting

  • Actively contributing to the identification of new opportunities for analysis

  • Assist administratively in related tasks, including onboarding of users, acting as a point of contact for Subject Persons, Competent Authorities, and service providers, providing training, and drafting policies and procedures

  • Assisting in the supervision of subject persons, specifically in ensuring that reporting obligations are being adhered to

  • Assist Data Protection Officer in monitoring access and use of data amongst Competent Authority users

  • Provide support during projects

  • Assist in the completion of questionnaires and other tasks related to evaluations, assessments and research being undertaken by various local and international bodies

  • Representation at local and international meetings and workshops

  • Representation (if required) in proceedings, including as witness, before any court, tribunal or other adjudicating body

  • Ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management from time to time



What are you expected to bring?

  • Degree at a National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better preferably in fields related to position. Candidates with qualifications that fall outside this will also be considered, provided they have proven experience relevant to this position

  • Qualifications/certifications in data extraction (e.g. SQL), data mining (e.g. R or Python) or data visualization/analysis (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) are considered an asset

  • Proven working experience of a minimum of two years in a similar set up

  • Expertise and experience in service management is considered an asset

  • Qualification and relevant experience in information privacy and data protection is considered an asset

  • Familiarity with EU directives and domestic legislation that govern financial and ancillary services together with familiarity with the operation of financial services

  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical and report writing skills and proven track record of technical competence, efficiency, ethical responsibility, and diligence

  • Fluency in Maltese and English
