Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join one of the most reputable companies in Malta. In this role, your main responsibility will be to identify and implement solutions to improve the workshop processes and optimize the fleet's performance. What is expected of you?

• Provide technical support and guidance to management and workshop personnel
• Identify and solve technical and operational issues in the workshop and fleet
• Prepare reports to assist management in making informed decisions
• Prepare improvement proposal reports based on technical analysis
• Collaborate with the technical department to plan and execute improvement campaigns
• Work closely with the workshop manager to optimize fleet inspections and reduce breakdowns
• Receive training from manufacturers and share knowledge with the team
• Make prompt technical decisions in collaboration with workshop supervisors
• Assist with budgeting, resource planning, and cost management
• Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and health and safety policies
• Support other departments when needed

What are you expected to bring?

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial machinery or heavy vehicle maintenance
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and provide technical guidance
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Adaptability to handle changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in technical tasks
• Critical thinking skills to analyse complex situations and make sound decisions
• Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate team members
