Industrial Plumber/Pipe Fitters

What is expected of you?

• Determine layout needs by reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications; finalise work planning
• Using hand or power tools, cut pipe apertures in walls, floors, and ceilings
• Ability to use hand and power tools to measure, cut, thread/groove metal pipes
• Join pipes and create parts of piping system using weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints
• Install supports, valves, piping, control systems and relevant equipment such as sprinklers and hose reels as per working drawings. Look for alternate solutions to minor challenges that develop during the execution
• Use testing equipment to check for leaks in the system
• Revise as-built drawings (freehand)
• Perform maintenance or replace worn components, then reactivate the system

What are you expected to bring?

• Mechanical background and equivalent experience
• Experience in projects related to metal pipe fitting, brazing, or similar installations.
• Able to read installation drawings and take measurements, perform threading and grooving
• Able to conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance related to firefighting installation, valves, deluge, sprinkler piping.
• Capable of using of power tools such as threading/grooving machines, cutting machine such as chasers and other related power tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Experience in fire pump and/or fire sprinkler systems
