Are you an experienced Engineer or Architect looking for a new challenge in Malta? Our client, an Environment company with a strong commitment to equal opportunities, is seeking a talented Head of Project Design to join their dynamic team. The role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate innovative design strategies for a wide range of infrastructure and public space projects. Interested? What's expected of you? 

  • Develop innovative design strategies for urban public realm projects
  • Lead the creation of architectural, urban, and landscaping design concepts
  • Work with public and private stakeholders to ensure integrated planning and optimal design solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to architecture and urban design teams
  • Oversee the review of architectural and urban design proposals from various stakeholders, including public agencies, community groups, developers, architectural firms, and other entities
  • Foster teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement within the company, guiding staff in decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Identify, assess, and manage potential risks and constraints associated with design concepts
  • Develop and articulate policies and strategies through comprehensive master planning
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, budget limits, and delivery deadlines
  • Perform other duties as required by senior management

 

What are you expected to bring?

  • A Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, or a related field
  • Must be a Warranted Architect or Civil Engineer in Malta
  • At least 3 years of experience in infrastructure and/or urban design projects
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of architectural design principles and local planning and design legislation
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and creative skills
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • A valid Category B driving licence
