Are you a professional and dynamic individual in search of a new adventure? We are looking for a Head of Compliance and MLRO for our client, a well-known insurance company with a growing and diverse team.


What is expected of you?

  • Oversee and lead the implementation of the Compliance & AML framework within the company
  • Provide guidance on the correct application of laws, regulations, and policies that the company must adhere to in relation to Compliance & AML
  • Create, review and update internal company policies for all departments on matters that affect compliance such as Product Oversight and Money Laundering
  • Keep up to date with existing and new regulatory requirements as well as EU directives and changes in the law that may affect the company
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual compliance plan and lead internal and third-party regulatory compliance audit
  • Develop an efficient Compliance and AML Training Programme
  • Form part of the Senior Management and attend meetings in representation of the Compliance and AML Department
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents, to identify risks and weaknesses as well as AML systems and controls against money laundering,
  • Advise management on the company’s adherence to laws, regulations, rules, and standards as well as any risks or weaknesses that might arise, for both Compliance & AML
  • See to any reporting requirements needed in relation to AML & Compliance
  • Coordinate Compliance & AML releases with the various departments to ensure that the staff is knowledgeable of and complies with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards while also periodically conducting meetings with departments heads
  • Monitor the day-to-day operation of AML policies, money laundering prevention guidelines, and all relevant reports while also liaising with any law enforcement when needed
  • Improve and implement both customer risk rating criteria and KYC management and procedures for both consumer and corporate customers
  • Investigate suspicious reports and financial crime risks
  • Establish the basis of a risk-based approach to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing
  • Responsible for the updated freezing orders register of the company and various system checks and controls, to ensure full compliance for payments to customers holding interim injections
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures in relation to how freezing orders treat injections coming from new and renewed maintenance business and/or payment obligations to policyholders and third-party customers.


What are you expected to bring?

  • Regulatory Compliance expertise
  • Previous leadership and management of a compliance team will be considered an asset
  • Experience in managing relationships with regulatory bodies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Extraordinary communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance market, techniques, and environment
