We're in search of an experienced Contract Manager for a Construction Project to join our client, who has played a significant role in prominent developments in Malta, such as luxury residences, 5-star hotels, dining establishments, retail spaces, and more. The chosen candidate will have the responsibility of supervising all contractual aspects of the construction project and report directly to the Project Director. Do you believe you're the right fit? What is expected of you?

  • Work closely with legal teams to create, assess, and finalize project agreements, construction contracts, subcontracts, and supplier arrangements
  • Engage in negotiations to establish contract terms and conditions with project collaborators
  • Facilitate the prompt execution of contracts
  • Manage a comprehensive contract database, ensuring precise and up-to-date records of contract documents, revisions, and communications
  • Supervise contract compliance and performance across the project's lifecycle
  • Address contract-related concerns and disputes, initiating appropriate measures for conflict resolution
  • Evaluate and oversee contract change requests, modifications, and adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and communication
  • Collaborate with relevant parties to assess the impact of changes on project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Identify potential contractual risks and suggest strategies for risk management
  • Ensure that insurance, bonding, and indemnification requirements are met by collaborating with project teams
  • Promote effective communication among project stakeholders concerning contractual matters
  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement teams, and legal advisors
  • Monitor the performance of contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to the quality and performance standards outlined in contracts
  • Prepare regular reports detailing contract status, progress, and potential issues for presentation to project management and stakeholders

 

What are you expected to bring?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Demonstrated prior experience in Project Management within the construction sector
  • Competence in using contract management software and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of local construction contracts, legal terminology, and risk management principles
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities
  • Self-initiated, highly motivated, and driven, with strong teamwork capabilities and adaptability to fast-paced environments
