Assistant Financial Controller

Are you a highly motivated and responsible team player? Do you have accounting qualifications? If so, we are seeking to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller for one of our clients, a leader in the construction industry in Malta.

What’s expected of you?

• Assist in the supervision of the finance team members
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
• Input accounting entries in a prompt and correct manner
• Conduct regular reconciliations of all control accounts, VAT returns, bank, and cash accounts as well intra-group company accounts
• Attend stock takes and ensure that all internal practices follow current legislation
• Review and enhance internal controls and processes, where possible leveraging technology
• Recommend improvements to existing internal reporting
• Prepare budgets and forecasts
• Ad hoc duties related to the role as needed

What are you expected to bring?

• Possess an Accountancy degree and be ACCA qualified (or in a process of obtaining ACCA qualification)
• Must be fluent in the English language
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
• Be able to work flexible hours
• Solid proficiency in Excel
• Able to prioritise with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
