IT Security Specialist

What is expected of you?

• Establish communication with technical teams and business units to learn about the company's environment, attack surface, and IT risk posture
• Report on the IT risks which the company is facing
• Conduct routine internal and external vulnerability scans on the hosting environment and key systems, and file tickets with the appropriate teams for remediation
• Conduct security reviews for new or significant application updates
• Comment on new efforts and projects from a security standpoint
• Examining malware report alerts, e-mail quarantine, and other security controls are all part of the monitoring of security controls
• Perform penetration testing jobs as needed on occasion
• Liaise with security auditors and regulators as required
• Keep abreast of new threats and share your knowledge during an annual information security awareness training session

What are you expected to bring?

• An Information Technology related degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years working in an information security position.
• Familiar with the PCI DSS and other relevant standards.
• Good knowledge of the OWASP top ten application security risks and ways to protect against them.
• Awareness of vulnerabilities affecting common Internet protocols and ways to mitigate these risks.   
• Security certifications such as CISA, CISSP or OSCP will be considered an asset
