Accounts Assistant

One of our clients, a prominent company based in Malta, specializing in financial services for over a decade, is seeking to hire an Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team.

What is expected of you?

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of management accounts for a portfolio of clients
• Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
• Cooperate with other teams and departments while also providing support related to accounting matters
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations as required
• Improve accounting procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness
• Keep up to date with accounting standards, taxation regulations, and industry best practices
• Assist in the VAT reporting process, including preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with the regulations
• Perform any additional duties as may be required by senior management from time to time

What are you expected to bring?

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Diploma in accounting or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills in the English language.
• Excellent knowledge MS Office suite, particularly Excel
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems
• Experience in VAT reporting and knowledge of Maltese tax regulations
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
